I was all set to do some shooting for the 365 when I discovered that my camera battery was completely flat. I'd originally ordered a spare a year ago when I upgraded to the 60D, but had received (and immediately returned) a cheap knock-off being sold at full Canon price rather than the genuine article, so I've been about 18 months without a backup. It hasn't been a problem so far--and I hadn't expected it to be an issue today either, as the camera had thought it was still at 20% or more when I went to bed.
The other pair of rechargeables were purchased in desperation last week when my trackpad started freaking out that it was at critically low battery levels, decaying rapidly from 30% to 12%... But it's been a week or more and I'm still at 10%. So now it's a matter of seeing how long I can ride out the "low battery level" there before it actually matters.
Technology is weird.
