266/365: House Finch

266/365: House Finch

In between sleeping in in hopes of shaking the cold my daughter gave me and the arrival of the afternoon downpour, I made a point of getting outside with the Sigma 150-500mm zoom lens that I'm renting for the weekend to try to get some practice with it in natural light. Of course, the moment I stepped out the front door, I scared away a chipmunk and several birds, so I was rather short on subjects for a while until, after a few minutes, some birds decided to land on one of our trees. Based on the first result for "common Ohio birds", I think they were house finches.

I had to do some post-production work since the light was kind of goofy when I shot these, but I have high hopes for our trip to the zoo tomorrow.

99 days to go...
