262/365: Twenty-Five Above

It's funny how this went from being my least favorite, first shot of the day, that I initally thought would be total junk, to a balanced, minimalist image that I keep staring at. I really like the combination of following and breaking the rule of thirds here, with the arm of the lamp roughly aligned to the one-third mark, but the head/bulb area being pushed way to the edge of the frame. It almost makes me think of a flying saucer or Flash Gordon-ish rocket jetting quietly through the turbulence around it.

I might even try to recreate it using a "real" camera instead of winging it as best I can with the iPhone, as many pixels gave their lives in service to a crop that would make the tiny number 25 legible.
