189/365: Flyover

As the heatwave broke, the wind across Lake Michigan picked up, whipping the waves into a heavy surf and producing some really interesting flight conditions for the seagulls at the beach. Ordinarily the gulls are hard to track because they're always moving, but with enough wind off the lake they end up hovering at fairly low altitudes, presenting a real photographic treat.

I caught this shot as a gull swooshed over my head, soaring from one mid-air stall to another.
