It's only taken 270 days for me to pick a photo for March 21, our day in Disney's Magic Kingdom. In spite of the many successful shots over the course of the day, I keep coming back to this one from the finale of the fireworks show. I like the silhouette of the castle, I like the heavy black tones, I like the subtle illumination of the crowd. And the fireworks are all right too. (Actually I'm kind of impressed with all of the fireworks shots I posted from that day; I think they're pretty good considering I was shooting hand-held and basically winging it the whole time.)
Claire won this fluffy little unicorn at German school today after being able to recite the poem we'd been working on memorizing this week. Now it's in space, preparing to deliver rainbows all around the world.
15 days to go!
A neighborhood cat has been coming by the past couple of days to look in our back windows and tease our cats. Valentine largely ignores Allie's visits, but Julia goes absolutely bananas, puffing up, flattening her ears, yowling and hissing. Here we find them locked in a bitter standoff.
17 days to go...
I wasn't feeling tremendously inspired today. At some point I looked at my phone and reflected on how much the humble telephone had changed in my lifetime and that my daughter would probably never really understand phones that weren't also pocket computers wirelessly linked to an infinity of knowledge and data.
19 days to go...
We went to Lake Farmpark for the Christmas lights and elf workshop, and I got a bunch of photos that I'm pretty happy with, but after lots of consideration, the pick for the day is this shot of a father helping his very young son to meet a horse for the first time. The boy's amazement was really delightful.
21 days--just three measly weeks!--left to go!
