Thanks to the leap year, I couldn't resist adding an extra day to the 365 project. Here we find Andrew, Cory, and Liz headed to dinner at Greenhouse Tavern on a cold and snowy night far different from the unseasonable weather we enjoyed last year. As usual, Greenhouse delivered an amazing culinary journey that made for both a delightful birthday celebration for Liz and a satisfying end to a challenging year.
We managed to sneak out for a twelfth anniversary date night, woo-hoo! After picking up movie tickets, we did a bit of wandering in Crocker Park, ate dinner at Vieng's, watched Skyfall (certainly the best Bond film since the Connery era, possibly the best ever), and wrapped up with drinks at B-Spot.
I say it every year, but it's really hard to believe that so many years have passed so quickly.
It's equally hard to believe how quickly this year has flown by--just 50 days to go!
Liz thinks she's really funny. During the run-up to the Chairman's Awards, whenever I had to explain why I had to reschedule a haircut, or what occasion demanded that I obtain a suit that fit, I cut the explanation short by saying that I was a finalist for "a major award." So Liz (again, thinking she's really funny) made sure that, win or lose, I would at least end up with "a major award," and now I have a mini replica leg lamp in my cubicle.
59 days to go!
Every now and then, Liz manages to find new ways to render me speechless with terror. This was one of those days.
Apparently she plans to wear this for the upcoming "Running With the Santas" race in early December. In the mean time, this image will haunt my dreams and fuel my nightmares.
77 days to go...
Liz successfully ran her first half marathon this weekend in Akron, Ohio!
Here we find her finishing strong as she rockets past other racers on her way to the finish line. I only hope that I'll wrap up the 365 with as much strength and momentum as she demonstrated at the end of the race.
92 days to go...
Liz sent me to the basement to look for photographic inspiration tonight, but no amount of creepy doll stares or abstract close-ups of the kiddo's toy karaoke mic could equal this parting shot that I took on my way. I love the light on her hair, the shine of her iPhone case, the glow on the phone on her face, and the look of daggers from her eyes.
I'm a little annoyed that I was still on ridiculously high ISO from Sunday's zoo shoot (indoors in the Rain Forest), but the moment is priceless.
97 days to go.
Liz got us up early and downtown for the OROC 5k race, which meant that I got to go crazy shooting in the morning light at the Rock Hall. I ended up with a lot of shots I liked, but I kept coming back to this one. I have comparatively little in the way of architecture subjects in the 365 so far, so I'm all right with this.
Of course, if I felt like cheating I'd use this picture that Liz took of me and Claire getting our rock'n'roll on, but I didn't feel like bending my rules that much.
It turns out that Liz and I haven't had a proper date night in forever, so we were grateful to get away for a few hours last night. I tagged along for dress shopping (frowning at things that didn't fit right, approving things that did), then we caught a bite to eat at B-Spot (where she showed off her new Tom's sunglasses, a freebie thank-you gift from my job) and got her caught up on The Dark Knight Rises.
